The Port of Cork
The Port of Cork is an iconic group of buildings. The 'new' Custom House, designed by William Hargrave built in 1818 on Custom House St which now houses the reception, is the former long room where the main business of Customs and Excise was carried out. In 1906 the magnificent boardroom designed by William Price, said to be one of the finest in Europe, was added. It has semi-circular tables, an imposing desk and red upholstered chairs all of which remain today!
